Erasmus+

The University of Belgrade participates in various international programs:

Erasmus+ is a European Union program aiming to boost skills and employability, as well as modernize education, training and youth work. Erasmus+ will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad.

Erasmus+ program provides support for cooperation projects in the following three fields:

  • Education and Training
  • Youth
  • Sport

The aims of the Erasmus+ program in the field of education and training are:

  • to enhance and support development of all levels of education and training
  • to strengthen the links among formal, informal and non-formal education and learning
  • to enhance cooperation between education and labor market
  • to create added values for European education and a European dimension in education
  • to support cooperation among participating countries in defining education policies

Erasmus+ program also focuses on strengthening the potential of youth for active participation in civil society, development of leadership skills, solidarity and understanding among cultures.

Erasmus+ promotes recognition of qualifications in education, open access to education materials, documents and media created through funded projects, an international dimension of activity, multilingualism, equity and inclusion.

Institutions and organizations from Program Countries (all European Union countries, Serbia, Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey) can fully participate in Erasmus+, while certain parts of the program are also open to participants from Partner Countries (other EU neighboring countries and all countries in the world).

In February 2019, Republic of Serbia became fully fledged member or the Erasmus+ Program and can participate in all parts of the program.

The Erasmus+ Program includes three key actions – KA1, KA2 and KA3 and two separate parts – Jean Monnet and Sport

Projects supported under Key Action 1 (KA1) are learning mobility projects, which include mobility for higher education students and staff.

The Program will cover the period 2014-20[21].

Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals, is a part of the Erasmus+ program dealing with academic (students and staff) mobility and exchange. This model of international cooperation was established in previous, similar programs, such as Erasmus Mundus.

Erasmus+ program offers the opportunity for students (at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels) to take part in student exchanges and to study abroad and/or to take part in a traineeship. Also, Erasmus+ program provides the opportunity for staff working at all levels of education, both in teaching and non-teaching capacities.

This Action supports international mobility projects between Program and Partner Countriesstrong> and between Program Countriesstrong>.

КА 103 – This Action supports international mobility projects between Program Countries. Higher education institutions from Serbia can apply for projects through which they can provide scholarship schemes for the exchange of students, academic and administrative staff with higher education institutions from the EU countries.

КА 107 – This Action supports international mobility projects between Program and Partner Countries. These projects have a bilateral character – the exchange is performed between a Program country and a Partner country, and may be established at the level of the University, for all its members, or only one Faculty/Institute, depending on the academic offer and interests of the HE institutions involved.
